Hi, I am Linda Melton, Proud Owner of Atlantic Shore Properties LLC which has been in Brunswick County since May of 2002. I am licensed in NC and SC and have worked all across the state of NC for the last 30 years. I grew up in real estate. My mother owned a real estate company for many years in Morganton, NC which is my hometown. My father retired from the City of Morganton after 30+ years and went to work for her as a Broker also; That is where real estate was ingrained in my life and it became my dream to own a company at the beach when My husband, Larry Melton took a position at Ocean View Baptist Church. We have 3 grown children, Melissa Dailey and her husband Ryan who live in Buies Creek, Adam Melton and his wife Nicole who live in Wilmington, and Katelyn Phelps and her husband Dustin who live in Calabash. All are very successful business owners. We have 8 perfect grandchildren who are our pride and joy! Atlantic Shore Properties, LLC started as a one little office in the complex located next to the airport and grew to four offices in that same building and then we moved to another office located on Beach Drive. When the old Shady Oak Garden Center building became available a friend bought the building and had my husband, myself and our friend renovate it into what it is today. Having a pretty office is not our main focus though; We pride ourselves in serving the community by giving professional, friendly, honest real estate services. We help you with every aspect of the process whether you are a seasoned real estate buyer or seller or a first time home buyer, we give you the attention you deserve and the help you need. We also manage investment properties like we manage our own so you don’t have to worry about a thing! And we do it for a reasonable price. It’s essential to be a people person to be a successful Realtor. That’s the conclusion I’ve come to after a decade in the business. It seems like I’ve been preparing for this my whole life. It seems I was born an entrepreneur from the start as a young kid peddling lemonade throughout the neighborhood from my little red wagon. At 12 years of age I found I could use my sling shot to shoot mistletoe out of trees and make small bundles, with festive ribbon, to sell at Christmas time in the local shopping center parking lot. Later on in life, I majored in telecommunications at UK which included courses in marketing which has always helped me think outside the box while promoting many endeavors, especially Real Estate. While part time in college I eventually became a full-time renovation contractor for many years which helps me start trouble shooting a potential home purchase from the minute I pull into a driveway. After a move to Southwest Florida. I extended my passion for sailing and achieved my captain’s license, sailing folks to the Keys and The Caribbean. You find out real fast how much of a people person you are when you spend a week, in close quarters, on a sailboat with folks you’ve never met before. I found that by the end of each voyage we were all good friends; That’s the way it’s been in Real Estate. I moved to Wilmington in 2017 with a strong desire to live at the beach (where I had wanted to move for many years). I am from Morganton, NC where I was involved with my local church, volunteered in the community, and served on the Morganton Service League for several years while waitressing and babysitting my way through school. I received a degree in Business Administration in 2008 from UNC-Greensboro, but I had a yearning to help people in their day-to-day life experiences and I always enjoyed variety in my work life, as I was not quite ready to pursue the corporate world for the rest of my life. I left my pharmaceutical job back home in 2017 to take a leap of faith accepting a job as an Office Manager in Wilmington, NC with a natural stone supplier and met some wonderful people along the way during these past several years. I have also enjoyed assisting with Property Management and bookkeeping over the years for a few companies. However, when you find an opportunity to jump start your career into doing something you have always wanted to do, you take it! I did just that in 2021 going to Real Estate School and pursuing this new dream of mine that I am so happy finally came true.
